Teach Children to Obey Commandments & the Law

"Parents have a sacred teach [children] to observe the commandments of God and to be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. Husbands and wives--mothers and fathers--will be held accountable before God for the discharge of these obligations."

Makes me pause to ponder, have I adequately taught them?
We'll get there...

Just a Note about today's activity:
Playing simple games like the one above with your children teaches them how to follow rules and can lead to a discussion about following commandments and why we obey the laws of our country.

Today was a busy, exciting day for me. I attended a different ward today for their ward conference, as part of my new calling as secretary to the new Stake Relief Society presidency.

I felt the spirit in a special way, multiple times, testify to me that this is where I was meant to be, and that I was loved by Him. It was a very reassuring experience and such a blessing.

My husband, on the other hand, was charged with cleaning up a poor sick baby, and getting them all to church. (He did a great job, by the way. They were all looking so cute and happy when I finally caught up with them, later on.)

It's rainy here, which is giving my two girls a chance to take a nice deep sleep, the kind of relaxing sleep that only comes when it's drizzling. (Aaah, to be a child!)

Anyway, we played this "pencil spin game" that I found in the Friend magazine online.
It was a fun activity, perfect for my 4 year-old to enjoy on a quiet Sunday afternoon.

  1. I can feel your enthusiasm popping all over. Watch out world...

  2. Thanks! I used to have a lot more on my site but it's been FOREVER since I have even tried to do anything with it. Guess I am not a good business person! hehehe My kids had fun playing the spinner game by the way. Thanks for posting that. I love games from the Friend. They are usually good. We have one about President Monson that is really good that is a bingo about him. They really like that and we have all learned a lot of fun facts about him too!
