Life Lessons Preschool: Anything Is Possible

--Life Lessons Preschool--
Everything I want my children to know before they start school

Lesson 6

"Anything is possible."

The world does a great job of telling children what is not allowed, what is not possible, and what is out of their power to control.  But I want my kids to know that anything is possible in  life, especially if they work hard, dream big, believe in their abilities, and rely on the Lord.

I believe than the Lord wants us to follow our dreams, and he is willing to help us accomplish our goals.  I think that he enjoys showing us his power by helping us to turn into something that we never imagined we could.

Write A Book

While I was blogging yesterday, Guy decided to write a book...for me.
No biggie.  He's just four years old and he just wrote his first book.

It's a picture book, but there is definitely a well-planned story going on.
I asked him to tell me the story, and I got it on video.

I've typed up the words to his book which he calls "Mommy's Story".
The author will tell you his story in his own voice at the end of this post.

Once upon a time there was a robot who didn't like anything.

Then he zapped a tree and it went on fire.

Then he didn't like this blue flower, so he zapped it with fire, and nothing could put it out.

Then he zapped a rain cloud with fire that couldn't go out.

Then what happened?  Nothing came!

The End.

My boy loves me enough to write me a story...and even dedicate it to me.
What a sweet, sweet, special being.
How did I get so lucky?

Isn't it funny that a story about a robot that hates everything is like poetry to me?
I thank the Lord every second of the day for the wonderful experience of Motherhood.

Remember to stay tuned on Monday when the Family Proclamation Celebration RSVP Giveaway starts!

  1. how creative and fun...dreams to follow-you are planting wonderful seeds.

  2. What a lucky mommy you are! I think it's funny that the story is about a robot that hates everything, but the cover is covered in pink & red hearts. Classic!

  3. So dang cute and touching. My creative 5 yr old asked me to draw a golfball with a bunny on it. Then he colored it and cut it out. I love a unique prospective.

  4. Guy....TAKE A BOW!

    Mommy.....What a genius.

Do you know? These short comments are way better than a prolonged discussion in this comment section. I love it! And I love you.

  5. another great creation by Guy...he is a future writer...applause everyone!

  6. Super cute!
We have a stack of at least 20 such books that my son has created in the last month or so. He loves making his own little books. He wants me to send them to the library and bookstore so other people can read them.

  7. Awesome! Jeanette - i'm pretty much going to sleep with this one underneath my pillow from now until...forever! :) Love it!
