Working for Eternity by Meredith Tuttle

In my life, I wear a lot of hats.

Some of which I could live without (anyone wanna come over and clean my powder room??),
but a few I get to wear forever.  And I'm so grateful for that!

Thanks to being married in the temple (at the ripe old age of 19),
my little family has the chance to be together forever.

I don't think we fully appreciated the eternal promises entered into on our wedding day
until we welcomed our little boy two years later.

Babies are beyond perfect
(their little habits of never sleeping at night and giant poop explosions aside)
and upon meeting our little guy I thought, "I can't imagine life without him!"

Heavenly Father put in us the ability to love our kids more than anything and then He allowed us to be together forever.

What an amazing blessing!

Families can reach beyond the grave and they're meant to.
I love that I know that, and I love having that goal to strive for every day.

  1. "mK." Love that.

"I don't think we fully appreciated the eternal promises entered into on our wedding day
until we welcomed our little boy two years later."

Love that, too. I think parenthood makes the plan, the covenants, the Atonement all mean so much more.

  2. sweet family, children are the fruit of the tree of life...

  3. I just have to tell you how much I love you rwedding dress! :)

  4. Sometimes thoes hats get overwhelming. My favorite hat is the one I wear of Daughter of God. Thank you for sharing.

  5. Great reminder of the importance of all my hats, even the ones I'd rather do without that I don't have to have in eternity. (Will our celestial mansions require mopping? I hope not!)

  6. What a fun post and an adorable little boy. :)

  7. What a cute idea with the hats! And what a sweet little family you have there. I love your wedding picture - you husband looks very cute with those glasses. There is just something very cute about guys with glasses, don't you think?

  8. Love the pics, and the simplicity of your post. Beautiful!

  9. I often think of the feeling I had when I gave birth to my first born. He was absolutely beautiful and perfect and instantly there was never life without him. And the feeling reoccurs with every new addition to our family. They have always been with us and I don't know life without them.

  10. Oh the many hats!!! I love thinking back to when my babies were born. It is such a sweet reminder of Heavenly Father's love for us! Thank you for sharing your story!

  11. I too am grateful that I have the knowledge that families are eternal!

  12. I love the idea of framing family history - I think it will really demonstrate the importance that our family in the past plays a role in our family now. I would love to have this!

  13. There's nothing like a baby to really make you appreciate eternity!

  14. Hahaha...I don't know Meredith personally, but only she would literally illustrate wearing multiple hats. I love it.
