Miracles in Missionary Work - Elder Andersen

In his General Conference talk "It's a Miracle,"Elder Andersen promised that we can expect miracles as we participate in the work of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, and that just as the Lord has inspired more missionaries to serve, "he is awakening the minds and opening the hearts of more good and honest people to receive His missionaries."

Elder Andersen energetically advised, "If you're not a full-time missionary with a missionary badge pinned on your coat, now is the time to paint one on your heart--painted, as Paul said, 'not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God.'  And returned missionaries, find your old missionary tag.  Don't wear it, but put it where you can see it.  The Lord needs you now more than ever to be an instrument in His hands.  All of us have a contribution to make to this miracle."

These are inspiring words, and I truly believe that all of us do have a contribution to make to this miracle!  Even little children.

My children have been on a few missionary adventures with me over the last few years, and they mean it when they sing, "I can be a missionary now."  But I also want them to have a vision of the missionaries that they will become one day, when the time is right.

So, I downloaded these "future missionary" tags (found HERE) and had a photo shoot with my little crew of future missionaries.

Here's Scarlett:  She wanted to hold The Book of Mormon that her Daddy used in Brazil.

Guy:  Hopefully he will have a full set of teeth by the time he enters the real MTC.

And Autumn will certainly add a feminine touch wherever she serves...at home or in the mission field.

I love how the photos turned out.  I couldn't wait to print them out and hang them in our house.  They make my heart skip a beat to think about all of the work we are doing to prepare them for life outside of our home...and to think that someday they will go forth "to bring the world his truth."

But for now, I am glad that their time for full-time missionary service is still relatively far away...and they still have plenty of time to wrestle and be silly...and be mine.
