Trust in the Lord Elder Ballard

This was a quick, before-school lesson, tied in to Elder Ballard's talk "Put Your Trust in the Lord."

There is a lot about member missionary work in this talk...a lot of things I know I am meant to internalize, so I'm going to give this talk more attention at a later time and maybe in another post...in fact our ward conferences have all focused on this talk, and our local missionaries have been teaching members exclusively from this talk ever since it was given.

For our lesson, we talked about this one line from his talk:

Quoting Clayton Christensen, Elder Ballard said, "Every time you take someone figuratively by the hand and introduce him or her to Jesus Christ, you will feel how deeply our Savior loves you and loves the person whose hand is in yours."

Fresh off of his own continuing missionary efforts, I know that Guy is feeling that love.

So, to remind ourselves of this truth, we created a paper chain made of our own handprint cut-outs.  We glued paper hearts to the center of our handprints to remind us that when we take someone by the hand and introduce them to the Savior, we feel his love for us and for the other person.  Here's our little paper chain....leading us to the Savior.

I like how all of our hands are intermingled.  It reminds me of how it takes many people to bring someone to Christ, and as we work together, we can all feel His love.
