To Touch Heaven

We spent the day together for Honor's Birthday and had a brilliant time: played at an indoor play place, hit Wegman's, ate yummy food and had a family birthday party.

Got lots of photos which promptly got erased while trying to download them to my computer.  So today, I'm moving on, but trying to be Thankful for the day and not focus on losing my photos.

That's the thing about gratitude, right?  It's easy to be grateful when everything goes just so.  But when things start to go awry...well all bets are off! ;)

Let's try to remember President Monson's advice, "To live with gratitude EVER in our hearts is to touch heaven."

Reaching out for heaven today.

  2. So sad about the pictures of Honor's birthday. We recently had to get rid of a dying computer, and I thought we transferred all of our pictures to a hard drive. But somehow we lost a lot of them. I am still trying to forgive myself for that!
One of my favorite holiday treats is a recipe I got from my mother-in-law. It is for pistachio pie, and it is wonderful! It is always REQUIRED at Thanksgiving AND Christmas!!!

  3. You are such a great example of looking at the good despite trials. Which is why I love reading your blog. My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is the pie. Also, every year my mom makes amazing cornucopias out of ice cream cones and she packs it with nuts and fun little candies. Love that!

  6. Losing your photos is so annoying! I don't have any photos of when I was a baby, as there was some kind of mishap when my mum took the rolls of film to be developed. How wonderful that you understand what is important in life. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Oh I forgot - even though we are in Australia we celebrate Thanksgiving. I make a fabulous pumpkin pie. I'm willing to bet it is as good as any Americans!!

It can easily work as jam or a topping for pancakes as well. :)

Sorry your photos were deleted. It stinks when that happens. Thanks for the reminder to still be grateful even when things aren't going so smoothly…….
